I graduated from FSCJ in 1977 with an AA in General Ed, from UNF in 1979 with a BA in Special ED (Learning Disabilities), and from UNF in 1982 with an MEd in Special Ed (Emotional Handicap).
Experience
I have been a certified teacher in Florida since 1979. I am now retired from the classroom and am looking for part-time work to supplement my income. I believe that lack of self-confidence plays a major role in why some children experience in school. 1-1 tutoring can build that confidence back up in ways the classroom teacher does not have time to do. I enjoy seeing the "light" come on in the eyes when a skill is mastered. I tutored for two years at FSCJ through their Disabilities Department, I have tutored for Sylvian Learning Center on the north side of Jacksonville, and I have done tutoring on my own.
